Clickworker Review 2026: Is Clickworker Legit? Real Pay, UHRS and the Ban Problem

Clickworker review 2026 header: $3–7 an hour for testers, 39-day UHRS payout wait, 2.3 Trustpilot score

Is Clickworker legit? Yes. Clickworker is a German company that has been paying people for small online tasks since 2005, and since early 2025 it has been owned by LXT, a Toronto AI-data company. It pays every week through PayPal, Payoneer, bank transfer or ACH, and it never asks you to pay anything. What it won’t do is pay well or keep you safe from automated bans. This Clickworker review shows what the work really earns in 2026, how UHRS fits in, why so many accounts get closed, and what changed for North American workers in August 2026.

Verdict in 20 seconds

Clickworker is real and it pays, but it is a microtask site, not a job: independent testers land around $3 to $7 an hour, many tasks pay a few cents, and Microsoft’s UHRS work takes about seven weeks to reach your bank. Its Trustpilot score has fallen to 2.3, mostly over automated account closures that wipe out unpaid balances. Use it for small, occasional extra cash, cash out as soon as you can, and never keep money sitting in your account.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Clickworker was founded in Essen, Germany, in 2005 and was bought by LXT, which announced the deal on December 17, 2024 (Clickworker, PR Newswire).
  • Payouts run weekly, Wednesday to Friday, with a €10 or $10 minimum ($20 for Payoneer) (Clickworker help center).
  • Clickworker promises no hourly rate; a FinanceBuzz tester made $3.71 in a few hours and estimated $6–7 an hour once experienced (Clickworker, FinanceBuzz).
  • UHRS earnings sit for “exactly 39 days” before they become payable (Clickworker help center).
  • Trustpilot: 2.3 out of 5 from 3,198 reviews, with sudden suspensions and robotic support as the main complaints (Trustpilot).
  • Since August 1, 2026, workers in the US, Canada and Mexico contract with LXT AI Inc. under terms with mandatory arbitration (LXT AI terms).

1What is Clickworker, and who owns it now?

Clickworker started in 2005 in Essen as humangrid GmbH and took the clickworker name in 2013 (Clickworker). It splits big data jobs from companies into small online tasks: writing short texts, tagging images, recording your voice, answering surveys, checking search results. The worker side runs on workplace.clickworker.com and a mobile app with more than 5 million downloads on Google Play (Google Play). Clickworker itself is blunt about what this is: it “is no substitute for full-time employment” (Clickworker).

In December 2024, LXT, a Toronto company that sells AI training data, signed an agreement to acquire Clickworker, and the two platforms finished merging their technology on July 31, 2025 (PR Newswire, Clickworker). The change that matters to workers came in August 2026: accounts in North America were moved to LXT AI Inc., a Canadian company, under new terms effective August 1, 2026. Workers on Reddit describe the transfer emails and having to re-accept terms and resubmit their tax forms (LXT AI terms, r/Clickworker, r/Clickworker).

Not Workbolt

You may see “Beware of Workbolt” posts in the Clickworker subreddit (r/Clickworker). Workbolt is a separate San Francisco AI-training platform (workbolt.ai), not a new name for Clickworker. Clickworker’s own site and app still use the clickworker name.

2How Clickworker works

Signing up is free. You register, fill in a profile with your real name and address, and start with the basic jobs that appear. Passing assessments unlocks more job types (Google Play). According to Clickworker, tasks include surveys, text creation, web research, mystery visits, app testing, photo, audio and video recording, and categorization (Clickworker). A growing share is AI training data, such as comparing text-to-speech voices.

  • Fill in your tax details before you earn. US workers must provide an SSN or EIN and a signed W-9 before any payout (Clickworker help center).
  • Expect automated checks. New accounts are screened automatically, and “suspicious data” can trigger a suspension and a request for ID or proof of address; manual review “can take up to 14 days” (Clickworker help center).
  • Some projects ask for more data than you’d expect. Workers report AI projects that ask for selfies or driver’s license details inside the task (r/Clickworker). Skip those if you’re not comfortable.

Clickworker says the data it holds includes your profile, the texts, voice, video and images you submit, payment and tax data, and analytics used for fraud detection (Clickworker).

3How much does Clickworker pay in 2026?

Not much, and Clickworker doesn’t pretend otherwise. Its own pay page promises no hourly rate: tasks “can earn anything from one euro to several tens of euros” and hourly earnings “can vary greatly” (Clickworker). In practice most tasks pay far less than a euro.

The community picture matches. In a 2026 thread on whether Clickworker can be a full-time job, the consensus was no: “projects come & go” (r/Clickworker). The most upvoted recent thread on r/beermoney is more positive, with regulars saying voice-comparison tasks are available most days and “$3 a day adds up” (r/beermoney). That is the honest ceiling for most people: a few dollars a day.

4How you get paid, and the fees

Clickworker pays every week. Its help center lists a bill run from Wednesday to Friday, with these minimums (Clickworker help center):

PayPal€10 minimum, 2% feefees
SEPA bank transfer (EU)€10 minimum, €0.18 feefees
ACH (US)$10 minimum, no feefees
Payoneer€/$20 minimum, €2.50 feefees
AirTM1% feefees

From Clickworker’s payment-options and fee pages, updated November 2025 and March 2026.

Three details trip people up. Your PayPal account must be verified and able to receive euros. Any change to your payment or profile details puts payouts on hold until you click a confirmation email (Clickworker). And if you’re in the US, check which methods you actually have: the new LXT AI terms list Payoneer, i-Payout, AirTM and ACH, with PayPal only “if outside the United States” (LXT AI terms). Weekly pay puts Clickworker in our list of side hustles that pay daily or weekly, though job reviews can delay individual tasks.

5UHRS through Clickworker: better tasks, slow money

UHRS is Microsoft’s Universal Human Relevance System, a separate platform for search and AI rating tasks. Clickworker is one of the main ways in. You need to score at least 80% on a one-time English assessment, which “you cannot repeat”, and sessions are granted for eight hours at a time (Clickworker help center, Clickworker help center).

The catch is the wait. Clickworker adds your UHRS earnings to your balance the week after you work, and “it then takes exactly 39 days” before they become payable, during which UHRS can reject work (Clickworker help center). Add the weekly cycle and the payout itself and you’re looking at about seven weeks from task to cash.

39 days

is how long UHRS earnings wait before Clickworker will pay them out. Work also got scarcer: threads such as “Is UHRS still worth grinding?” and “UHRS zero Hit app” describe a dry season that “didn’t end this year” (r/Clickworker, r/Clickworker).

6The ban problem: closed accounts and lost balances

This is the main reason Clickworker’s reputation has slipped. On Trustpilot it now scores 2.3 out of 5 from 3,198 reviews, and the platform’s AI summary of recent reviews mentions payment issues, support that is “entirely robotic”, and sudden account suspensions (Trustpilot). The pattern in 2026 reviews is consistent: long-standing accounts closed with a templated email, tickets closed as a “final decision”, and bans after logging in from another country, such as one reviewer whose account was closed “because I logged in while visiting family” abroad (Trustpilot). One Reddit user lost an account holding more than $1,000 (r/Clickworker).

Two facts make this worse than at most platforms. First, Clickworker confirmed in a Trustpilot reply that it “imposes forfeiture of earnings contained in the permanently suspended account”, citing its terms (Trustpilot). Second, its official Reddit account has said that some suspensions, based on suspicious data from your connection or device, get no further review (r/Clickworker). Earnings from partner offerwalls and surveys are another weak spot: reviewers report “tracking failed” on high-value rewards from offerwall partner MyChips (Trustpilot).

  • Cash out every week. Money that has reached the minimum should leave your account at the next bill run.
  • One account, one device, your real location. VPNs, shared households and travel logins are the common triggers.
  • Don’t delete or unsubscribe with money inside. A user who deleted an account with a balance under €10 lost it (r/Clickworker), and others report that unsubscribing from Clickworker emails deactivated their account (App Store reviews).

7What Clickworker reviews say

The scores depend heavily on where you look. Trustpilot shows 2.3 from 3,198 reviews, but older reviews were much kinder; the score has been dragged down by recent ones. Clickworker replies to 99% of negative reviews and, according to Trustpilot, has no recent history of asking for reviews (Trustpilot). Employer sites are middling: Glassdoor gives 3.5 from 152 reviews, with compensation rated 2.7, and Indeed gives 3.4 from 89. The app stores are the friendliest, at 4.0 on Google Play from about 121,000 reviews and 4.3 on the App Store (Google Play, App Store). The BBB lists clickworker.com, Inc. as not accredited and, because it believes the business is located outside the US, urges consumers to “exercise great caution”.

Read together, the reviews say the same thing: people who use Clickworker for pocket money are mostly fine; people who rely on it, or who leave money in their account, are the ones writing one-star reviews. We saw the same split at Outlier, where bans also dominate 2026 complaints.

8Scams that use Clickworker’s name

Fake Clickworker recruiters are common. One reported scam site, clickworkercampaign.site, recruits through WhatsApp with step-by-step “tasks” (Quora), the classic setup for a task scam that later asks you to deposit money. Clickworker’s warning on its Facebook page says it will “NEVER ask you for payment”. We couldn’t find a scam-warning page on clickworker.com itself, so use these rules:

  • Sign up only at clickworker.com or through the official clickworker app.
  • Clickworker doesn’t recruit through WhatsApp, Telegram or private Facebook messages.
  • Any “job” that asks you to pay, buy something, or deposit crypto to unlock earnings is a scam, whatever name it uses.

9Is Clickworker worth it in 2026?

For pocket money, yes, with care. Clickworker is a 20-year-old company with weekly payouts, it is free, and it accepts people in many countries who can’t get onto stricter platforms. If you want something to do in spare minutes and you cash out every week, it works.

It is not worth it as an income. The pay is a few dollars a day for most people, UHRS money takes about seven weeks, and an automated ban can erase whatever is in your account. If you can spare more time, Prolific pays better for research studies, DataAnnotation and Alignerr pay real hourly rates if you pass their tests, and our guide to getting paid to train AI with no experience ranks the options by how hard they are to get into. Experts should look at Mercor or micro1 instead.

Clickworker FAQ

Is Clickworker legit or a scam?

Clickworker is legit. It is a German company founded in 2005, owned by LXT since early 2025, that pays workers weekly for small online tasks and never charges a fee. Scammers do impersonate it on WhatsApp and Facebook, so sign up only at clickworker.com.

How much can you make on Clickworker?

Most people earn a few dollars a day. A FinanceBuzz tester made $3.71 in a few hours and estimated $6–7 an hour once experienced; regular workers on Reddit report about $25 to $50 a week. Clickworker itself promises no hourly rate.

How does Clickworker pay?

Weekly, in a bill run from Wednesday to Friday, via PayPal, SEPA bank transfer, ACH, Payoneer or AirTM. The minimum is €10 or $10, or $20 for Payoneer. US workers must submit an SSN or EIN and a signed W-9 first.

How long does UHRS pay take on Clickworker?

UHRS earnings are added to your Clickworker balance the week after you work, then take exactly 39 days to become payable, so expect about seven weeks from task to cash.

Why was my Clickworker account suspended?

Clickworker’s automated checks flag suspicious data from your connection, device or profile, such as VPNs, multiple accounts or logins from another country. It may ask for ID, and it forfeits balances on permanently suspended accounts.

Who owns Clickworker?

LXT, a Toronto AI-data company, which announced the acquisition in December 2024. Since August 1, 2026, workers in the US, Canada and Mexico contract with LXT AI Inc.
