Live Chat Jobs Review: It’s Not a Job, It’s a $27-a-Month Membership

What Live Chat Jobs actually is

The page you probably saw is at socialsalerep.com. Its own metadata names it “Social Sale Rep (Live Chat Jobs)”, and the order buttons go to a ClickBank checkout under the vendor name socialsrep. So this is one product with two names, sold through affiliates who earn a commission on every $1 trial and every rebill after it.

What you buy is a membership. Inside, according to the most detailed public walkthrough of the members’ area, you get text-only training modules on how to be a chat agent, plus a “chat jobs database”, which is a set of instructions for searching Upwork, ZipRecruiter, Glassdoor, Indeed and LinkedIn (Cash Embrace, February 2026). Nobody at Social Sale Rep hires you. The company said so itself in its Trustpilot profile text: “we don’t guarantee immediate job placement” (Trustpilot).

The page is built to read like a job offer. It says there are “2700+ current workers from United States”, “100,000+ businesses hiring” and “$75,000+ salaries available”, and it shows two “current live chat assistants” with quotes. None of these figures is sourced anywhere on the page, and we could not verify any of them, so treat them as advertising copy rather than facts.

What it costs, and what the page says it “normally” costs

The pricing block says membership is “normally $99 per month” but that, because your country needs more workers, you can start for $1. After three days it bills $27 a month until you cancel. ClickBank is the retailer, and the page promises a 60-day money-back guarantee (sales page).

The upsell figures come from the same members’-area walkthrough: a $97 “VIP Lifetime” jobs database, and one-time offers for two other products from the same stable, Paid Online Writing Jobs and Write App Reviews, at $57 each (Cash Embrace). We reviewed the first of those separately; it follows the identical $1-then-$27 pattern (our Paid Online Writing Jobs review).

One caution on the $27. Independent reviews written between 2023 and February 2026 report the rebill at $47 a month, not $27 (Gig Hustlers, Cash Embrace), and a reader of one of them was quoted $47 in 2022. The current sales page says $27, and that is the number we use, but read the checkout page for the figure you will actually be charged.

Red flags you can check yourself in five minutes

You do not need to buy this to judge it. The vendor’s own pages contain most of what you need.

What buyers report

Social Sale Rep has 146 reviews on Trustpilot and a score of 2.1 out of 5, which the platform labels “Poor”. Trustpilot also notes that the company “hasn’t replied to negative reviews” and has “no recent history of asking for reviews”. Only two reviews were posted in the last twelve months, so the sample is old as well as unhappy (Trustpilot).

The most recent review sets the tone:

“Just another scam. They reel you in and say it’s a value $99 but today you can access training for $1. What a crock.”

There are five-star reviews too. They are short, they praise the “training” in general terms, and none of the ones we read describes a paycheck arriving from a chat job.

Reddit is where people who actually paid describe what they got. The longest thread, “Social Sale Rep ???” in r/WorkOnline, has 167 upvotes and more than 120 comments. The original poster framed the pitch in one line:

“They are claiming if I pay them $27 for the training, then I can earn $25-35/hr. Seems too good to be true.”

In a second thread, someone who had paid answered the question directly:

“I started it but all they do is yes give you some training tips. Then all the job listings are just openings from Indeed and random sites. I tried it got my money back not worth it.”

A user who wrote up their own review after buying said the same thing at more length:

“You have to pay to get access to nothing honestly. […] They give you the impression that they have exclusive connections to companies that are in high demand for agents, and yet their job database just gives you job listings from other sites, such as Indeed and LinkedIn.”

Across the five Reddit threads we read, nobody reports getting a chat job through the platform, and nobody calls the training worth the money. The one refund story is a success: the buyer above got the money back. A more recent poster in r/WFHJobs (2025) had paid before asking and described the product accurately: “a small membership fee, take a few modules (one a day for 3 days)” and then you look for work yourself. In r/Scams, the tell that stopped one reader was simpler: “they don’t list ANY of the company’s that they hire you for.”

One independent reviewer who went inside reported that “clicking on the job links often leads to error pages or closed applications” (Vocal Media). A review site that tested the funnel in 2023 reported that ClickBank declined to refund the $1 itself “because the seller offered the trial at a reduced price”. Each of those is a single report, so take them as one person’s experience rather than a pattern; the pattern is everything above them.

Where real live chat jobs actually are

Live chat work is a real occupation. It sits inside what the US Bureau of Labor Statistics calls customer service representatives: about 2.67 million jobs in 2025, with median pay of $21.53 an hour, or $44,770 a year (BLS, May 2025 data). That median is below the $25 to $35 the sales page promises beginners, and the BLS projects the field to shrink by about 5% over the next decade as more of it is automated. Real, but not booming.

Nobody legitimate charges you to apply. On the day we checked, Indeed alone listed 275 remote “virtual chat support” openings (Indeed). Specialist employers exist too: The Chat Shop, a UK agency that staffs live chat for client websites, is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 35 of its own agents on Glassdoor (Glassdoor). Mixed, like any job, and free to apply to.

How to tell a real chat job from a paid funnel

A real employer names itself, interviews you, and pays you. A funnel asks for money first, promises a rate before it knows anything about you, and shows a countdown. If the “application” ends at a checkout, it is a purchase, whatever the headline said.

What you would actually pay

The sales page frames $1 as the price. It is the price of three days. Put in how long you think you would stay subscribed before you either found work or gave up, and the calculator adds it up. The only fixed numbers here are the $27 monthly charge from the sales page and the median chat-agent wage from the BLS.

Already paid? Here is how to get it back

The vendor’s own refund page says “any time within 60 days of purchase” via its helpdesk. You do not have to rely on that helpdesk, because ClickBank is the retailer. Go to clkbank.com, look up your order with the email you used and the last four digits of your card, and choose the refund option. ClickBank’s policy covers 60 days from purchase for this product, and the request is processed by ClickBank, not by Social Sale Rep. Cancel the subscription in the same place so the $27 stops. Several Trustpilot reviewers say they could not find the cancellation route inside the members’ area; the ClickBank route works regardless of what the members’ area shows.

Live Chat Jobs review: the final verdict

Live Chat Jobs is not a job, and it does not pretend very hard once you read past the headline. It is a $27-a-month subscription to text lessons and search instructions for public job boards, sold by a company whose terms page names a fictional address and whose reviews average “Poor”.

It is not a theft either: money goes through ClickBank and can be recovered within 60 days. That is the kindest thing we can say about it. The training may teach a complete beginner something, but the same beginner can apply to real chat jobs today, for free, at any of the boards the course would send them to anyway.

Skip it. Spend the $27 on a better keyboard.
